Two plays from my work The Missouri Cycle will be read at Scripteasers on April 6th, 2018. The short A New Daddy will be part of Scripteasers’ 70th anniversary celebration and fundraiser on May 4, 2018. If you aren’t familiar with this wonderful group, of which I am now a member, please come see readings at 3404 Hawk St. in San Diego twice a month. Here is their website, where you can learn more about the organization, and see a full schedule of readings for the year.
EXCITING NEWS: I signed a multiple book deal with Launch Point Press to publish several volumes of my poetry. The first volume, one of lesbian love poems will be published in a few months. You can visit Launch Point’s website here. You will find me listed in their stable of authors. Lori L Lake, the publisher, is a person I admire greatly. I love her books and I find her to be the most generous of teachers. I’m proud to be associated with her publishing company.

Please see My Clips page for my latest articles, poems, essays. I write a weekly column for ROAR Literature and Revolution for Feminist People. My column is Fight this Hate and offers both a weekly round-up of events you want to know about and ways to fight back against hate.

My full-length play The Missouri Cycle is a collection of three one-act plays, two ten-minute plays, and seven monologs. Scripteasers of San Diego has already read several. San Diego Playwrights read a piece on April 11th at Diversionary Theatre at their WordPlay Tuesday series. Another piece was produced by Athena Cats Theatre in Santa Monica.

My full-length play Blue Roses about Rose Kennedy and Rose Williams, both of whom suffered lobotomies to protect their families’ reputations, had a staged reading in Raleigh, NC on June 30, 2017, at the Women’s Theatre Festival. The WTF occupied the stage for 24 hours. Every play was performed twice as they did two 12-hour stints.

A Grave Situation, from The Missouri Cycle, was performed as part of Athena Cats New Works Festival in Santa Monica, California on Saturday, April 8th. There were two performances: 1 pm and 3 pm, at City Garage, Bergamot Station Arts Center, Bldg T1, 2525 Michigan Avenue.

Till Darkness Comes is now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook everywhere books are sold. NYT best-selling thriller writer Chelsea Cain says: “I wish I had half the plotting talent of Sandra de Helen. This is a terrific and totally satisfying book.”
My mystery novels, the Shirley Combs/Dr. Mary Watson series, are now available in serial format on at this link. Chanillo offers different levels of membership, and for only $4.99 a month, you can subscribe for up to 10 different series. You can click on the authors to see who they’re reading as well. Even if you don’t want to buy, go have a look. If you click on View next to anything, you can read a sample. I’m reading a few serials there myself. And if you’re an author, you may want to write for them. Go check them out.

Please support Indie Bookstores. While my books are available online, when you buy my books at Another Read Through in Portland or Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore in San Diego, you will find I have PRICED THEM BELOW what you can get them for online. And I will continue to do so. Indie bookstores rock!
